How we built this list

Every channel here was pulled from the YouTube Data API in October 2026. We kept channels with a US channel country where one is listed (a few creators leave it blank and are included because they are widely known as US-based), at least one upload in recent months, and a clear fit with the topic. Subscriber counts are as reported by YouTube. Average views is the mean view count of a channel's most recent long-form videos, ignoring anything posted in the last seven days so brand-new uploads do not drag the number down. For channels that publish mostly Shorts, we fall back to all recent videos, so their averages read lower. Views per subscriber divides average views by subscribers. It is a quick signal of how much of the audience actually shows up, not a true engagement rate, and it says nothing about audience location or demographics. Confirm those with the creator before you sign a deal. Views per subscriber above 100% mean recent videos reached more people than the channel has subscribers, usually thanks to viral hits.

How to pick the right makeup influencer for your brand

  • Match the skin tone range. Make sure the creator's audience and your shade range fit. Creators like Nyma Tang and Monica Ravi-Conway speak to specific skin tones.
  • Choose the right price tier. Drugstore reviewers such as Zabrena and Taylor Margaret suit affordable brands. Artist-led channels suit premium products.
  • Prefer honest reviewers. Makeup audiences reward creators who test openly. A candid review often beats a polished ad.
  • Check the age group. Mature skin, bridal, glam and everyday looks each attract different viewers.
  • Keep claims compliant. Avoid unsupported claims and require clear sponsorship disclosure.

Conclusion

The top makeup influencers in the USA include global artists, honest reviewers, drugstore specialists and technique teachers. The right partner depends on your price point, your shade range and the look you want to show. A well-matched creator with 90.4K views per video can be more valuable than a megastar whose audience does not buy your product.

Frequently asked questions

Who are the top makeup influencers in the USA?

By YouTube subscribers, the largest on this list are James Charles (23.6M), Tati, Christen Dominique, Manny Mua and PatrickStarrr. For honest reviews, look at Laura Lee, Casey Holmes and Morgan Turner.

How do I find makeup influencers for my brand?

Choose the product category and price tier first. Compare creators by subscribers, average views and recent activity. Influvine lets you search YouTube creators by niche so you can shortlist quickly.

Which makeup creators are good for drugstore brands?

Look at Taylor Margaret, Zabrena and Jen Phelps. Their audiences are used to affordable products and honest comparisons.

Are smaller makeup creators worth it?

Often. Creators such as Lashay's Glamz or Dose of Josephine reach focused audiences and can be cost-effective for new brands.

Do makeup influencers have to disclose sponsorships?

Yes. The FTC expects clear disclosure of paid or gifted partnerships. Ask every creator to label sponsored content in the video and use YouTube's paid promotion label.

How is this list different from the beauty influencers list?

This list focuses on makeup artists and reviewers. Our beauty list is broader and also covers skincare and hair, so a few creators appear in both.
